Credit & Funding Readiness

Prepare the Business Before Submitting the Application

By Shonya Williams · Quoti Consulting · July 28, 2026 · 4-minute read

Funding readiness is not simply having a good idea or needing money. A lender or funding source must be able to understand the business, verify its information, evaluate repayment ability, and trust the records provided.

Make business information consistent

Legal name, address, ownership information, registrations, bank records, and applications should agree. Inconsistencies can delay review or reduce credibility.

Organize financial records

Current bookkeeping, bank statements, tax returns, profit-and-loss statements, and a balance sheet help explain performance and repayment ability.

Define the use of funds

State the amount needed, what it will purchase, how it supports the business, and how repayment will be made. A specific plan is stronger than a general request for working capital.

Understand the terms

Review the total repayment amount, payment frequency, fees, collateral, personal guarantees, and variable-rate provisions before signing.
